In Monaco, since 1929, the end of May has brought the warm sun, the yachts, the fashionable and of course the rich and famous. This year, the final Sunday of May was the 90th Formula One Grand Prix through the streets of Monte-Carlo. The critical point of the race occured at "Nouvelle Chicane" at the exit of the tunnel on the third to last lap. Max Verstappen dove along the inside Lewis Hamilton, but could not make the pass stick. Contact was made, smoke billowed but it was a fair attempt. Hamilton was forced to use the escape road as he drove straight through the chicane. No advantage was gained nor lost. It is only fitting that Nouvelle Chicane was a key moment in the 2019 race.
