November 24th, 2023, New York NY: Charlotte Jones Opticians officially debuted Nouvelle Chicane’s L’Orbitalli Riviera bold white frame today.

L’Orbitalli Boutique Riviera Sunglass frame is now on display at her garment district boutique on 509 Ninth Avenue. This frame has throwback inspired 1960s styling making a bold fashion statement. This same frame debuted in Nouvelle Chicane’s very first collection at Paris Fashion Week and remains a French favorite and international standout. The name is based upon the Orbital bones that define our facial structures. The Classic Carbon Black L’Orbitalli is our favorite, but white is a pure stunner.. We only use high quality lenses, including gradient and flash mirror. This light, comfortable frame is our most head turning style. Made in the USA (NYC). Styled forever.

A Chic Reopening

November 19, 2023, 5th Avenue & 81st Street: The MET reopened their 45 astounding European Galleries the week of November 13, after nearly 5 years of renovation. The results are beyond astonishing. 700 art works are now available to see in 45 separate galleries, most of which had been hidden away for nearly half a decade. The sheer size of the “addition” within the 5th Avenue MET location is mind blowing. The blue and grey paint schema is soothing and will become very popular.

The artwork from the 1300-1800 is impressive and immersive for the viewer. Rembrandt , Picasso side by side with Goya, van Dyke are all on display with countless others. Below are some of the inspiring works we found during our visit.

MET Gallery Reopening after 5 year hiatus

Interesting was how the art messaging evolved over this period. Literacy in the 1400s in Europe was only 10% for men and 3% for women. The paintings tended to tell stories, since visual communication was so much more important. As literacy rates grew the subject matter changed.

November 9, 2023: NYC… Madison Ave & 72nd Street, Upper East Side Manhattan: On this hopping Thursday night, Marko Stout presented his fine art on at the acclaimed Kate Oh Gallery on Madison Ave and 72nd St. The night was on point, with fine wine and a swath of the coolest Upper East Side natives, influencers and celebrities crowding the space. Everyone wanted to catch a glimpse of the fine art work pieces on display. Nouvelle Chicane attended to see and experience the latest in fashion and brand photography. This also served as a networking event with those up and coming and established fashion writers and entrepreneurs. Nouvelle Chicane reported back to Charlotte Jones Opticians to assure that our frames are up to date with the style that New Yorkers have come to expect from our brand. Nouvelle Chicane featured our boldest white frames on the MLC runway at the NYSWIMWEEK event at the Moxy Lower East Side NYC on Thursday October 26th, 2023.

Daniel stole the runway with the iconic look seen here. The White L’Orbitalli Visiera frame reflected the theme of the show. Carefully selected eyewear (mask) will change how you are perceived. These frames are on display now at Charlotte Jones Opticians, 9th Ave midtown NYC

NYFW Sept 7: Nouvelle Chicane Eyewear and Evita Scoccia’s Evita Store swimsuit collection combined for an evening of fashion & fine cocktails in downtown Manhattan at DOM. This, the inaugural event at a private downtown club, was an evening to remember. It was also the follow up to NYSW’s summer success. NOUVELLE CHICANE eyewear was called upon to compliment the stunning swimsuits developed by Evita Scoccia from her New York fashion house in midtown New York City. NOUVELLE CHICANE is co-located in Midtown Manhattan as well. The collaboration was natural. The result was stunning. Statuesque models stood on the edges of the stage posing and throw back 60s style while the DJ spun records and models dance like there was no end to the night. We began our newest concept, the Vivace two tone space frames. Our new concrete grey temples are now paired with the classic matte black chunky frames, and now infused with brass inlays. These temples are not only beautiful but adjustable too!
