In Monaco, since 1929, the end of May has brought the warm sun, the yachts, the fashionable and of course the rich and famous.  The town’s streets are shut down for the Formula One Grand Prix through the streets of Monte-Carlo.  In the 1970s Grace Kelly and her husband the Prince of Monaco hosted the world for this event of speed, glamour and danger. Nothing has changed.  Monaco is a special place.

In 2019 our founder attended this same race.  And this year, the most critical point occurred in a sharp bend at the exit of the famous tunnel.  Max Verstappen dove aggressively along the inside Lewis Hamilton, but could not make the pass. Contact was made, smoke billowed, but it was a fair attempt. Hamilton was forced to use the escape road as he drove straight through the chicane. No advantage was gained nor lost. The name of this corner? Nouvelle Chicane.  It was at that moment the brand name was born. Nouvelle Chicane translates as “new turn”.
